M-Graphic Verication Tools
Streamside Solutions can verify your graphics against the latest DDL files automatically. Our proprietary verification tools can check for the following items in a M5 graphic:
- Invalid tag names (no match to DDL)
- Invalid CS object attributes (no match to model file)
- Invalid tag or expression syntax
- Invalid alias names or local variables
- Invalid file names in load display pick actions
- Referenced system names
- Referenced local variables
- Referenced file names
In addition to M5 graphics bindings, all alias text files bindings used to load template graphics can be verified also.
A verification report is generated that will contain the graphic objects that are invalid for each graphic along with a report showing all unbound DDL points (points that weren't bound to a graphic). See reports below.
Benefits
- Graphic service providers can save wasted time and embarrassment fixing binding errors at the job site or after the graphics are installed.
- Graphic end users can achieve 'piece of mind' that the graphics provided are correctly bound based on the latest DDL files.
- Reduce or eliminate on site verification
- Eliminate finger pointing when graphics are developed prior to finished DDL and DDL was changed after the graphics were installed. The reports will point to all changed or deleted points and all unbound points.
Items needed for verification
- Latest DDL files (Global, Model, NC's)
- All graphic files and alias text files (if used)
Requirements
- M5 Graphics v4.0 files or later
Limitations
- The verification will not flag bindings that are valid (in DDL) but are bound to the wrong system name.
- If multiple layers are used, only the layer that is defaulted at runtime will be verified. (This will be fixed at a future date)
- Only the most commonly used attributes are included in the verification. Additional attributes will be added as needed based on demand.
