EMS Scheduler

The EMS Scheduler is an application that provides an automatic scheduling interface between Johnson Controls’ Metasys® software and the Dean Evans Event Management Systems software (EMS®).

The Metasys® software controls the building’s air handler units (AHU’s) to maintain room temperatures during occupied times. The EMS system database contains the event information that defines the times and dates that rooms in the building will be occupied. By interfacing these separate systems, the building environment can be optimally controlled based on actual room usage as dictated by the EMS system.

Once a day, the EMS Scheduler will retrieve the confirmed scheduled events for the current day from the Dean Evans EMS system and automatically create temporary schedules in Metasys via Metalink DDE for the air handlers that serve the event rooms. A daily printout can also be generated to let the facility operators know when the AHU’s are scheduled to start and stop.

The temporary schedules in Metasys® will override any regular weekly scheduling that has been programmed. The temporary schedules are deleted automatically at midnight on the following day.

Features

One-time setup is sufficient to configure the interface and assign the rooms to the air handlers.
Scheduled times can be based on event schedules or booking schedules.
Daily summary of schedules to be assigned to the air handlers can be printed automatically.
Pre-start times can be adjusted for each air handling unit to start the AHU early enough before an event to ensure the temperature is comfortable.
Minimum stop times can be adjusted to prevent shut down of a unit between events that are close together.
