Virtual Outdoor Air Service

The Virtual OA Service is a software application that retrieves outdoor air information from the internet and commands that information back to several building automation system data points.  This data can be used to supplement hardwired outside air data or to eliminate the expensive labor and materials needed for hardwired sensors.

The application runs as a Windows Service and updates the data at a 15 minute interval.  The application can be configured to map data fields to individual BAS point objects.

Data Available for U.S. Cities (sampled at 15 minute intervals)
(see live demo)

  • Outdoor Air Temperature (Deg F)
  • Outdoor Air Humidity (% RH)
  • Barometric Pressure (in. HG)
  • Dew Point (Deg F)
  • Wind Speed (MPH)
  • Wind Direction (Deg)
  • Wind Chill (Deg F)
  • Heat Index (Deg F)
  • Feels Like Temperature (Deg F)
  • Data Error Code (to flag a problem with the data connection)

Benefits

  • Reliable and cost-effective solution vs. hardwiring
  • Easy to setup and install
  • More data available vs. a typical hardwired setup
